Scoring Itself: Automating a Proprietary Talent Assessment, Checked Against Its Own Results
Case and Challenge:
Sales Research Group, of Naples, Florida, sells the TalentProfiler™, a long-standing assessment that companies use on job applicants and employees. A participant answers a long questionnaire. SRG’s proprietary method scores the answers into talent themes, and three reports come back: a long development report for the participant, a shorter one for their manager, and a graph of every theme. The method is SRG’s own, and the product rests on it.
For years, delivering it meant a routine. A web questionnaire on an older server emailed each participant’s answers to SRG as a file. An operator opened it in a desktop program, checked the details, processed the answers, reviewed the theme graph, produced the three reports one by one, and sent them out. Every profile passed through a person at a desk.
The method deserved a system of its own. In its notes on the old program, SRG asked for two things together: automate those steps so no one had to handle profiles by hand, and keep producing the files its own analysis uses, in the form its database expects.
Client: Sales Research Group (SRG)
Project Type: Custom assessment platform, from build to production care
More Info:
SRG needed its method to run without the routine: each submission scored as SRG scores it, the reports sent to the right people, its analysis files still in the same formats, and its history brought across.
